Ashley Gravois’ Story
Ashley is a social worker with a passion for helping others. She moved to Baton Rouge from Thibodaux, LA in 2006 to attend graduate school at LSU where she received her master’s degree in Social Work. In 2019 Ashley’s husband, Taylor, was diagnosed with a cancer occurring in less than one in a million individuals each year. Because of its rarity, Taylor’s illness was first misdiagnosed and he was given two years to live. In their thirties with three young children, Ashley and Taylor began the fight for Taylor’s life. They sought opinions from multiple out of state cancer centers eventually traveling to MD Anderson in Houston for all treatment and surgeries. By the grace of God, Taylor was given a new CURABLE diagnosis. Traveling to receive care made a difference between life and death for Taylor. During the many trips to and from Houston, Ashley developed the idea to create an organization to offer support to others facing the unique challenges of a rare diagnosis. To Ashley, her passion and desire to help others is personal.
